Tips For Buying A Treadmill

Whilst many believe nothing can beat running in the open air
in a park or in the country, with the wind in your hair and
all the sights and smells along the way, this is not an
option for many people. In reality the majority of us who
live in cities have to face traffic, pollution, hard
concrete pavements or inclement weather when we want to run
near our homes or offices.

Finding time to go running if we are used to exercising at a
club also becomes more difficult as we get older with the
ever increasing responsibilities at home and work. Not
surprisingly then, many people are deciding that exercising
at home is a more convenient and flexible option and one
that helps them stick to a schedule.

Static exercise bikes have been a popular way of exercising
at home for the last 25 years. Owning a treadmill puts one
up there with the "Joneses" ~ that is how treadmills have
become so popular with mid-high income women ages 30 to 50.
There is now a huge incline in the target market for
treadmill distributors as lower income women ages 20 to 60
are also purchasing treadmills.

As well as the convenience and flexibility of having a
treadmill at home, the treadmill provides a level surface
that is also low-impact due to the shock absorbers it
contains. This is great for those who are frequently injured
whilst running on hard concrete surfaces or uneven surfaces
such as grass or mud tracks. It is also good for older
people who want to avoid injuries in the first place.

More people are taking a closer look at the benefits of
working out on a treadmill. Exercise enthusiasts can~t
stress enough how important a daily routine of walking
or running is to our overall health and well-being. Due
to this, more people are purchasing treadmills to workout
in the comfort of their home. What better way to rejuvenate
your body, then with regular exercise on a treadmill?
Outside activities also keep you fit, but a treadmill can
help you build the strength and endurance you'll need
to compete in a friendly game of baseball or soccer.

Using a treadmill at home to run or walk has numerous health
benefits such as better circulation, cardiovascular benefits
to heart and lungs, stronger bones and a great way to shed
extra pounds. Of course it is not so stimulating as running
in the open air, as the home has less in the way of
diversions. However, you can watch the television and play
inspiring music to keep you on track. However, many
companies are working on this boredom problem - with the
innovations of virtual technology, soon we will think we are
running in the countryside, mountains or desert without
leaving our living rooms.

Treadmills do vary in style, functions, and price. Often it
is the operating functions that increase the price, as well
as the amount of hours the treadmill can be used. The more
powerful the motor and higher the quality of running belt,
the higher the cost. The treadmill functions will consist
of settings that will allow you to adjust the speed and
incline of the treadmill. Some inclines range as much
as 25%.

Treadmills that supply an electronic feedback on speed,
time, calories, and heart rate are more expensive. Users
can adjust the rate of speed and incline for a low impact,
fat burning, or high intensity workout. Less expensive
treadmills will not have the electronic feedback option;
instead, a knob is used to adjust the settings.

Treadmills range in price range, which is determined by the
number of features the manufacturer offers in the model.
Over all, there is a treadmill made for every person. Now,
the excuse of bad weather and small inconveniences can no
longer be used.
